This area of Central Ontario is home to about 2,600,000 inhabitants.

Get started at the world-famous CN Tower and Canada's Wonderland.

Wild Water Kingdom and Playdium are wonderful places to spend some time with your kids. The Canadian National Exhibition and Centreville Amusement Park are also worth stopping by if you're looking for more ways to keep little ones busy.

At Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, you and your family can investigate the mysteries of the ocean without ever getting wet.

You'll see all kinds of weird and wonderful animals at the Toronto Zoo and the Reptilia Zoo. Get involved in some educational programs at the Riverdale Farm to round out your zoological triple play.

Do you love a beer or three? If so, make sure you pay a visit to the Cameron's Brewing Company, a very educational place to spend an afternoon. Discover the different brewing processes for each beer, and afterwards, make sure you put all your new knowledge to good use by sampling the final product!

At the Still Waters Distillery, wine lovers can learn about the region's winemaking traditions, before tasting the final product.

Would you like to learn about some native plant species? Spend a morning at the Toronto Botanical Garden or the Edward Gardens. Allan Gardens and the Gairloch Gardens are two more wonderful places to take a stroll around.

Pack a picnic hamper and enjoy the leafy, green surroundings of Centennial Park and Kew Gardens.

Morningside Park and Downsview Park are two more nice places to while away a lazy day and finally read that neglected book of yours.

To take in scenic views of untouched landscapes and tumbling water, take the trip out to Hilton Falls.

Are you a bird lover? Get out your binoculars and see which feathery friends are hanging out at Lake Aquitaine Park and Tommy Thompson Park. Couldn't see a thing? Head on over to Heart Lake Conservation Area and Toogood Pond Park and try your luck again.

On a pleasant day, HTO Park is the place to go to taste the fresh sea air, stroll along the coast and paddle in the water.
Switch your phone to silent and have a rest from the noise of the modern world at Rattlesnake Point and Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Kelso Conservation Area and Crawford Lake Indian Village are also highly recommended by nature-loving travelers.

Spend a day or two exploring some of the many cultural spaces in the area. Savor the contemplative atmosphere as you check out the unique collections at the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Royal Ontario Museum. Another two to consider are the Ontario Science Centre and the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Toronto is a frenzy of artistic activity, with gallery spaces everywhere you look. Pop in to the TIFF Bell Lightbox and the Art Gallery of Toronto and see the best of what this creative enclave has to offer. The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art and the Art Gallery of Mississauga are also well worth a look if you can squeeze them in.

The past comes to life at the Spadina Museum and the Elman W. Campbell Museum thanks to their wide range of fascinating exhibits. Do you like the sound of those? Continue your journey at the Halton Region Museum or the Oakville Museum.

To learn more about the people and places of this region's past, pay a visit to at least one of its many historic monuments and buildings. Begin your local history tour at the University of Toronto and Casa Loma. You might also like to snap some photos at Campbell House Museum and Gibson House Museum.

Whether you consider yourself spiritual or not, you'll be sure to have a nice time at Church of the Annunciation and St. Michael's Cathedral. You might also like to check for guided tours around St. George's Anglican Church or the Kiever Synagogue.

Before you pack up your suitcase and head off home, be sure to see a few of the area's lesser-known attractions. The Toronto Public Library and Toronto City Hall are certainly worth a look. Also, consider seeing Harbourfront Centre and Hockley Valley Resort if your schedule allows.
